The second installment in the epic Starbound trilogy introduces a new pair of star-crossed lovers on two sides of a bloody war.

Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met.

Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet's rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the insurgents.

Rebellion is in Flynn's blood. Terraforming corporations make their fortune by recruiting colonists to make the inhospitable planets livable, with the promise of a better life for their children. But they never fulfilled their promise on Avon, and decades later, Flynn is leading the rebellion.

Desperate for any advantage in a bloody and unrelentingly war, Flynn does the only thing that makes sense when he and Lee cross paths: he returns to base with her as prisoner. But as his fellow rebels prepare to execute this tough-talking girl with nerves of steel, Flynn makes another choice that will change him forever. He and Lee escape the rebel base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war.

I absolutely, totally and utterly love and enjoyed This Shatter World! I truly missed the Starbound world so much. Now this is a companion book too These Broken Stars but all the books are interconnected stories together so we do see Lilac and Tarver in This Shattered World along with the evil Roderick LaRoux and his Corporation . Now this is Jubilee and Flynn book a soldier and rebel who believe there are fighting for the right reason and cause. Jubilee Chase is a is captain on Avon that is a rebellious colonists and she totally despise rebels for a reason. Flynn Cormac is a rebel and rebellion is in his blood his sister Orla was the original leader of the rebel group on Avon, but she died in the original uprising against the powerful corporate conglomerate that rules Avon with an iron fist. Now Flynn the leader of the rebel group and he is very desperate too end the unrelenting and bloodthirsty war that is between the rebels and TerraDyn. He didn't believe his sister way in the rebellion he just wants peace between his people and TerraDyn. And Flynn wants answers from TerraDyn too know why his planet is not getting any better too be on livable condition for his people and the children when they promised for a better life for them. But Flynn does the unthinkable too seek answers he kidnaps Jubilee and take her as prisoner too his base that is in the swamp. Flynn thinks he can exchanged Jubilee for information that he wants from TerraDyn even though they don't negotiate with rebels. But when Flynn fellow rebels prepare to execute Jubilee who have nerves of steel he makes another choice that will change him forever. Flynn and Jubilee escape the rebel base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war. But by the end of the book they find out the truth way the planet is not getting any better and the secret that LaRoux Corporation is keeping from everybody on the planet of Avon! And here is where I am going to leave off at without spoiling it for anybody. I so can't wait too read Their Fractured Light soon I have it on hold on the library but I should be getting it any day now! But I do most definitely and highly recommend reading the Starbound series it really is an amazing and great book series that I just can't get enough of this book series!

Meagan Spooner grew up reading and writing every spare moment of the day, while dreaming about life as an archaeologist, a marine biologist, an astronaut. She graduated from Hamilton College in New York with a degree in playwriting, and has spent several years since then living in Australia. She's traveled with her family all over the world to places like Egypt, South Africa, the Arctic, Greece, Antarctica, and the Galapagos, and there's a bit of every trip in every story she writes.

In her spare time she plays guitar, plays video games, plays with her cat, and reads.
