A contemporary novel with a strong suspense element from Oscar-nominated actress Meg Tilly set on a peaceful island village in the Pacific Northwest.

Dumped on the eve of her wedding and looking for a quiet place to lick her emotional wounds, Maggie Harris joins her sister on Solace Island, where she hopes to recover from the stunning betrayal. At first, Maggie resists Eve's impassioned argument about relocating permanently so the sisters can open their own local bakery. What she definitely doesn't need on her road to recovery are Eve's efforts to fix her up with their mysterious and alluring neighbor, Luke Benson--even if he is incredibly handsome and desirable.

Just as Maggie starts to get comfortable in her new surroundings, a car tries to run her down in the middle of the street. If it weren't for Luke's extremely quick reflexes, Maggie could have been killed, leading her to wonder just who exactly Luke Benson really is...

Luke thought he'd left the violence of the high risk security world behind. But he can't stand by while Maggie's life is threatened. Luke will do anything to keep her safe--even moving Maggie and her sister into his house with its state-of-the-art security features. But with the secrets between them and an unknown threat stalking her heels, Luke will have to think fast to prove to Maggie that she can trust him with her life--and with her heart.

*** I received this book through the Penguin First To Read Program in exchange for an honest review, thank you so much to  Berkley for the opportunity to read and review Solace Island!  ***

I know this book was not for every reader and that is totally ok but I really did love and enjoy this great book a lot. Plus this is the first book that I have read by Meg Tilly and it most certainly won't be my last book that I will read by Meg Tilly. I thought she did a fantastic job in writing Solace Island, I absolutely love her writing style which to me was very expressive and descriptive. I can just imagine and feel in my mind how the peaceful and beautiful Solace Island looked and felt like I was actually there at Solace Island myself. The plotline and concept were really amazingly fantastic and really done well for me now this book read more like a contemporary romance book with some mystery and suspense mix into the plotline, but it really is heavy on the romance department. If you don't like a romance book than this book is not for you, but if you love romance books with a dash of mystery and suspense in it than I say check this book out. Now I won't go into any details about this book because I don't want to be a spoiler for anybody, but I really need to talk about the main and side characters in Solace Island which I absolutely love all of them. The main couple is Luke Benson & Maggie Harris now when Luke first laid eyes on Maggie she was crying and he really wanted to console her but he held back because he really didn't want to get involved with Maggie issues or get close to her. Because Luke has some deep issues as well in his life and he also has some trust issues too. But then Luke bumped into Maggie once again and that's when the inst attraction and lust came up from both Luke and Maggie. But Luke and Maggie didn't act on there instant attraction and lust with each other because they both of them just ended a long time trouble relationship. And they both of them thought there were not ready for another relationship so they were fighting with their deep attraction and lust that had with each other. And it was so much fun reading about there struggles I absolutely love reading about Luke trying to be the ever gentleman and suppressing his sexual urges towards Maggie and failing miserably and Maggie making a complete fool outta of herself was so much fun to read. Which I absolutely love how Luke and Maggie's relationship blossomed to something much more than friends. Now there are some sexy and hot times in Solace Island which makes this book a little bit of spicy. Which I really don't mind for me the Spicer a book is the better but don't worry Solace Island is only mildly Spicer to me. Now my favorite thing about reading Solace Island was the sister relationship that Maggie and her older sister Eve have, their sisterly relationship reminds me so much of mine relationship that I have with my little sister. Eve is the older and very protective sister of Maggie but she also has a free spirit as well and I absolutely love her so much I so can't wait to read her book  Cliff's Edge when it comes out next year. Because Eve is so one of my all-time favorite side character in Solace Island. Now I am going to leave it off here without getting too a spoiler, but all and all I absolutely love and enjoy Solace Island that I can't wait to continue to read the next book  Cliff's Edge next year!
