Kazu Kibuishi's thrilling, NEW YORK TIMES bestselling series continues!

Emily and her friends think they'll find the help they need in Cielis, but something isn't right. Streets that were once busy are deserted, and the townspeople who are left live in crippling fear. Emily is escorted to the Academy where she's expected to compete for a spot on the Guardian Council, the most powerful Stonekeepers. But as the number of competitors gets smaller and smaller, a terrible secret is slowly uncovered--a secret that, if left buried, means certain destruction of everything Emily fights for.

I just love and adore The Amulet series it just keeps on getter better in each volume and The Last Council was no different. Very beautiful and gorgeous artwork of the small town of Cielis and there is something not right with the small town people are of fear of The Guardian Council especially they are very fearful of Max Griffin. I smelled corruption and conspiracy while reading The Last Council and I totally now something wasn't right with Max Griffin the elf prince also smelled and sense it as well. I had a gut feeling something was really fishy with The Guardian Council and Max Griffin like on how they treated their own people in Cielis, how they put fear in the townspeople if they speak ill well against The Guardian Council or Max and the guards throw them in the cell. Or how there are people alive who was supposedly have been dead years ago now I find that super weird. The elf prince was not the only one who knows something wasn't right with Cielis and The Guardian Council Emily, Navin and the whole crew now something wasn't right but they all couldn't pinpoint what was the problem was. The crew was separated from Emily, Navin, and their mom to see The Guardian Council which Emily never got the chance to meet any of The Guardian Council which she was promised that she would meet them when she first got to Cielis but she and her family were ushered to bedrooms instead to stay for the night. The next day is where everything dangerous comes and deep secrets revealed by the end and I absolutely know my gut feeling was so right by the end of The Last Council I could of scream when everything unraveled by the end of this amazing graphic novel. Now there are new characters that were introduced in The Last Council but I won't say who there are because that would be to a spoiler, but I will say these characters will help Emily and the crew out to save the world of Alledia and all of them will not stop to save Alledia the people and creatures out from the evil Elf King. All and all I can not wait to read Prince of the Elves next!
