For as long as she can remember, Gwendolyn Allister has never had a place to call home—all because her mother believes that monsters are hunting them. Now these delusions have brought them to London, far from the life Gwen had finally started to build for herself. The only saving grace is her best friend, Olivia, who’s coming with them for the summer.

But when Gwen and Olivia are kidnapped by shadowy creatures and taken to a world of flesh-eating sea hags and dangerous Fey, Gwen realizes her mom might have been sane all along.

The world Gwen finds herself in is called Neverland, yet it’s nothing like the stories. Here, good and evil lose their meaning and memories slip like water through her fingers. As Gwen struggles to remember where she came from and find a way home, she must choose between trusting the charming fairy-tale hero who says all the right things and the roguish young pirate who promises to keep her safe.

With time running out and her enemies closing in, Gwen is forced to face the truths she’s been hiding from all along. But will she be able to save Neverland without losing herself?

Unhooked took me a whole week too finished not because I didn't like it. I absolutely and thoroughly love and enjoy Unhooked so much, but I've been kind of been busy right now with life so it took me a bit of time too finished it. I was hooked from the very first page until the very end I really didn't want too put the book down at all but alas heath issues and all the jazz got in the way from me finishing this amazing book sooner. I really love everything about Unhooked the concept and plot was full adventure and twist and turns that it literally had me on the edge of my seat that I wanted too learn and know more about what was happening in Neverland. The writing style was flawless and lyrical that I needed too just read one more chapter late at night before I went too bed! The characters were well developed and rounded that I absolutely love each and everyone of them yes even the ones I so despise. I especially love Rowen the roguish damaged young pirate trying too protect his crew and Gwen from the charming hero Peter Pan. That I couldn't get enough of him, Rowen held a lot of secrets from Gwen and always had her lock up in a room on his ship. So it was really hard for Gwen too trust and trust anything that Rowen had too say too her about Neverland and about Peter Pan. But Gwen find out the hard way when she believes Peter Pan than Rowen. That she finally opens her eyes that Rowen was telling her the whole truth about Neverland especially about Peter Pan. She had too save Rowen and his Crew and find a way out of Neverland with her best friend Olivia before it was too late too ever go back from where they come from. Gwen also finds out about the truth about herself that she never image too be true at all but by the end of the book she finally accepts who she truly is. The romance in Unhooked is very sweet, subtle and very swoon worthy but it is not the main focused in Unhooked. And I am going to stop here without being too spoiler. I really did love and enjoy the writing style that I will most definitely continue on reading more books by Lisa Maxwell!
