Aster and his family are adjusting to his unconventional talent for witchery; unlike the other boys in his family, he isn't a shapeshifter. He's taking classes with his grandmother and helping to keep an eye on his great-uncle whose corrupted magic wreaked havoc on the family. Meanwhile, Aster's friend from the non-magical part of town, Charlie, is having problems of her own -- a curse has tried to attach itself to her. She runs to Aster and escapes it, but now the friends must find the source of the curse before more people -- normal and magical alike -- get hurt.

This graphic novel series just gets better and better in each volume I loved and enjoyed this graphic novel series so much. The Witch Boy graphic novel series is one of my all-time favorite middle grades graphic novel series that I started to read a couple of years ago. I love the uniqueness and different plotline and aspect of this awesome book that I have not read before in graphic novels yet. The writing style flows very beautifully and very expository as well. I adore all the diverse characters they all are amazing well build and complex in their way. My favorite part of reading  The Hidden Witch is the very beautiful and gorgeous graphic art I just love the color pallets in this book.  Now I don't want to go into any details about this graphic novel because I don't want to get into a spoiler, but The Hidden Witch starts where The Witch Boy left off at. Aster is now studying to be the first male witch in his family and it is quite an adjustment for him and for his whole family which some family members still believe that only females in their family should study to be witches and males should only be shapeshifters. With Aster having some problems with his family members and he is studying with his grandmother he also has to keep an eye on his uncle whose corrupted magic wreaked havoc on the family as well. In The Hidden Witch, we also get introduced to a new character and new friend to Charlie, but things get hectic for Charlie too. A curse tries to attach itself to Charlie and she goes to her best friend Aster for help and the two best friends Aster and Charlie tries to find out where is the source of the curse came from.  And when they finally find out where the source of the curse comes from both Aster and Charlie know they need more help from the dangerous position there wherein. Now I am going to leave it off here does Aster and Charlie gets the help they need from the hectic situation the both of them are in? You have to read The Hidden Witch to find out what happens next to Aster and Charlie. All and all I love and adore this series so much that I can't wait to read the next and final book of The Witch Boy series called The Midwinter Witch which will come out in November and I can't wait to check it out in November!

I grew up in the forests of upstate New York, where I spent the first half of my childhood reading about fantastical adventures and the second half acting them out with foam swords at a live action roleplaying camp . I graduated in 2014 from the School of Visual Arts, where I studied cartooning and illustration, and I currently live in Los Angeles. My artistic interests include women in fiction, fantasy and sci fi, superheroes, and history. I illustrate a twice weekly webcomic called Strong Female Protagonist with co-creator Brennan Lee Mulligan, which was listed as one of io9's Best New and Short Webcomics when it launched in 2012. I ran a successful Kickstarter in the summer of 2014 to print the first volume, which was distributed by Top Shelf comics and is now available in stores and online.  I'm currently working on a graphic novel with First Second named Shattered Warrior, coming out in Spring 2017.
