Ten years ago, college student Quincy Carpenter went on vacation with five friends and came back alone, the only survivor of a horror movie–scale massacre. In an instant, she became a member of a club no one wants to belong to—a group of similar survivors known in the press as the Final Girls. Lisa, who lost nine sorority sisters to a college dropout's knife; Sam, who went up against the Sack Man during her shift at the Nightlight Inn; and now Quincy, who ran bleeding through the woods to escape Pine Cottage and the man she refers to only as Him. The three girls are all attempting to put their nightmares behind them, and, with that, one another. Despite the media's attempts, they never meet.   Now, Quincy is doing well—maybe even great, thanks to her Xanax prescription. She has a caring almost-fiancé, Jeff; a popular baking blog; a beautiful apartment; and a therapeutic presence in Coop, the police officer who saved her life all those years ago. Her memory won’t even allow her to recall the events of that night; the past is in the past.    That is, until Lisa, the first Final Girl, is found dead in her bathtub, wrists slit, and Sam, the second, appears on Quincy's doorstep. Blowing through Quincy's life like a whirlwind, Sam seems intent on making Quincy relive the past, with increasingly dire consequences, all of which makes Quincy question why Sam is really seeking her out. And when new details about Lisa's death come to light, Quincy's life becomes a race against time as she tries to unravel Sam's truths from her lies, evade the police and hungry reporters, and, most crucially, remember what really happened at Pine Cottage, before what was started ten years ago is finished.

I've been dying to read Final Girls for a long time since I read The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager last year, which that book was amazing as well it was one of my favorite books of last year. I think Final Girls is Riley Sager debut novel and I understand why some readers didn't like this book so much. But I quite loved and enjoyed reading Final Girls so much, this is the first time that I read a book with the Final Girl plotline and aspects within the story. So I was excited to read a new, refreshing and thrilling plotline that was Final Girls and when I first started to read this amazing book I could not put it down. I was hooked from the very beginning of the story until the very end. I don't want to go into any details about Final Girls because I don't want to be too spoiler and also I think a lot of readers knows what this book is about. I thought all the characters were well developed and well rounded, there are also some unlikeable characters which I quite enjoyed reading their pov's I don't mind reading unlikeable characters I quite enjoy reading about these characters in Final Girl. I also thought that Quincy Carpenter the main heroine was a very unlikeable character but I loved reading her pov's. Quincy is a damaged girl who has a lot of flaws and demons within her after the horrific event that happens to her ten years ago. She just pretends that everything is going great for her and that she is a normal girl and not a damaged final girl which she continues on a denying that she is a final girl. But I love to read her pov's the most because you read her ugly struggles and the bad actions she does in this book that almost drives her crazy to a point. But my favorite, favorite part of the book is at the middle-end of the book when she got all her memories back from the horrific event that happened to her ten years ago. And when Quincy final put the pieces together and find out about the whole truth that happened that terrible night she finally realizes she is most definitely a Final Girl and she will fight to stay alive.  Riley Sager writing was flawless and expressive that I felt all the emotions all the characters were going through in Final Girls. Some times I wanted to reach in the book and slap some sense to some of the characters I especially wanted to slap Quincy a lot of the times.  I will continue reading more books by Riley Sager because I love and enjoy his books which I can't wait to read his new book  Lock Every Door hopefully soon!

  1. Love your review! I haven't read this author before, but I'm definitely curious now. I'm starting to like reading about heroes I don't much like, because it forces me to get out of my comfort zone, so I may include this on my Fall TBR for this year. Happy Reading!
