Nick Hammond and Anastasia Collins are the Mystery Society and bring new meaning to "underground cult" status! Stealthily avoiding the authorities, this skullduggery duo spends their time and money righting wrongs committed in the world's underbellies. This issue, Ana defends their secret headquarters as Nick goes on a rescue mission breaking into Area 51 for a bounty that you will not believe!

I just had to read this novel because I saw that Fiona Staples is the Illustrator if you don't know who Fiona Staples is she is the one who does the Illustration for one of my all-time favorite graphic novel The Saga series. I really love and enjoy Fiona Staples artwork and Mystery Society was no exception, I won't go into any details about Mystery Society because I believe you should check out this graphic novel out and see if you like it or not. I really love and enjoy this amazing graphic novel this one was a short one and a quick read but it had me on my toes while I was reading it. I was memorized on what Nick Hammond stories were telling the reporters when he was going into jail the stories he said what he his wife was doing in their Mystery Society was so unbelievable that I couldn't believe it. You see the Mystery Society is like an underground cult. Nick Hammond and his wife Anastasia Collins are filthy rich and they used their money to righting wrongs committed in the world's underbellies and they wanted to start a very powerful and strong Mystery Society so both husband and wife do everything within there powers rather it be illegally or legally to get powerful allies to join there Mystery Society and there cause. In this first issue, you see Nick goes on a rescue mission breaking into Area 51 while his wife Ana defends their secret headquarters. I won't say who the allies are that Nick is trying to rescue because that is very spoiler, but I will say these allies are very important and very powerful as well that's why there were locked up in Area 51! While Nick is on a rescue mission Ana has been kept really busy protecting their headquarters from intruders which were a very interesting and entertaining day for Ana which I am going to leave off right here without spoiling it any more for anybody. I can tell you I really love Anastasia Collins she really is a bad-ass chick that can take care of herself and her husband Nick Hammond can totally depend on Ana to take care of their secret headquarters by herself as well. All and all I thoroughly loved and enjoyed Mystery Society #1 that I can't wait to read the next issue soon!

    1. This graphic novel is a bit dark but I do recommend middle grade graphic novels there are the best. I do highly recommend The Amulet Series by Kazu Kibuishi for me this one of the best middle grade graphic novel out there it really has gorgeous artwork in it that you can just stare for ages on how gorgeous the artwork is. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog Jo.

  5. That is one creepy cover. While I want the Death Note graphic novels they are the only ones that really appeal to me (I watched the anime to episode 25 and can't get past it so I hope to do better with the book)
