This book has everything that I absolutely love in a book. It is a young adult, sci-fi, and retelling, but I don't know what retelling it is about. I am guessing it is a retelling of the film of The Sound Of Music just by the sound of the synopsis is about. Please do tell me what your opinion is on what you think which retelling is Brightly Burning is about.

DeleteThis cover and title really remind me of A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess. I've never seen A Sound of Music, so I'm not sure if that's what it's retelling or not.

DeleteI've seen this cover around and never real paid attention before, I think because it reminded me of another book or two I've seen and I assumed it was a sequel. Now that I've read the blurb it sounds pretty good! Thanks so much for sharing!

DeleteIt's definitely not The Sound of Music, I think it's a sci-fi version of Jayne Eyre. Knowing what I do about the ending of that book...I think this will be great! I'm loving retellings right now.
