Book Blogger Hop Hosted by Billy B. at Ramblings Of A Coffee Addicted Writer

This Week Question:

Do you read hardcovers with the dust jacket on or off? Why or why not?  (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)
My Answer:
I read hardcover with the dust jacket on, I  have always read hardcovers with the dust jacket on. The dust jacket really doesn't  bother me while I am reading a book. Sorry, I can't really explain why  I do this.

How About You?

  1. I love the dust jackets...some are gorgeous.

I take them off so I don't damage them.

The answers have been half and half for leaving them on or taking them off. :)

  2. Haha! Very true, some things youjust can't explain. You must not notice dust jackets, too busy reading! I envy that, I have to take off dust jackets because they are distracting!

  3. That's so interesting! It drives me insane because the book slides around in the jacket! Teach me your ways of reading without it bothering you! :P Have a great weekend!

    1. I usually read my book at the dinner table and I lay the book flat down while I am reading a book, or when I am reading in my bedroom I get a pillow and lay the book flat down on the pillow. And laying the book flat down the dust jacket doesn't bother me or slip or slide around the dust jacket. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog hop Heather.

  4. I am more of a paperback reader, personally. That, and Kindle obsessed. Hardcovers are kept on my shelves more for pictures and I usually buy a Kindle copy, too, so I can read it. Sounds bad, I know, but I have little kids and do a lot of reading on my Kindle or my phone because they don't try to yank it out of my hands. Great answer :)

  7. They slip and slide and make the book even more unwieldy... I can't do it. I'm in awe of those that can!
