Synopsis

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

My Thoughts

Oh My Oh My what a Fresh, Exciting and F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C read Divergent was for me I know I know what took me so long to finally read this amazing book I just want to kick myself to put this awesome book off for so long but I new I was going to read it around the fall or winter before the movie comes out and I am so glad and happy that I finally started to read it next! and Oh boy what a ride it was I haven't read a dystopian book for some time now I think the last one I read was back in the summer time it was quite refreshing to read again! O how I miss the dystopian world I love love the world and characters that Miss Roth created I can't help it to be connected to them even if I now what's going to happen to them I just connect with them right away except for the characters I despised Ugh I could not stand them at all! I felt so bad for Al my heart just broke for him but I totally understand why Tris did not trust and forgive him for hurting her like that I would also not trust and forgive him either but all and all I really really loved and enjoyed reading Divergent that I am very excited and can't wait to read Insurgent next! Until Next Time My Friends!
