Synopsis
n Sloane’s world, true feelings are forbidden, teen suicide is an epidemic, and the only solution is The Program.
Sloane knows better than to cry in front of anyone. With suicide now an international epidemic, one outburst could land her in The Program, the only proven course of treatment. Sloane’s parents have already lost one child; Sloane knows they’ll do anything to keep her alive. She also knows that everyone who’s been through The Program returns as a blank slate. Because their depression is gone—but so are their memories.
Under constant surveillance at home and at school, Sloane puts on a brave face and keeps her feelings buried as deep as she can. The only person Sloane can be herself with is James. He’s promised to keep them both safe and out of treatment, and Sloane knows their love is strong enough to withstand anything. But despite the promises they made to each other, it’s getting harder to hide the truth. They are both growing weaker. Depression is setting in. And The Program is coming for them.

My Thoughts
Now let me tell you all this I rarely read books about suicide especially if it is an epidemic that just scares the crap out of me and also because of personal reason. But when I do they have been done really well the ones that I have read. The Program look and sounded so good and scary that I had to give it a try plus I have yet read a book about suicide that I did not like, and oh my oh my I am so glad and happy that I picked out this awesome book from the library because I absolutely loved it. I am not going to go into too much detailed about it because I don't want to spoil it for anybody. But The Program takes suicide as an epidemic especially for teens now that just scares the heck out of me, but I loved how Mrs Young wrote about it. It was a totally different take on suicide that I have never read before I loved everything about it. I loved the plot, the world building and the characters and I loved the three different section she had for the story how everything started until how everything end up at the cliffhanger end it was freaky brilliant I just loved it. I highly loved and enjoyed The Program that I can't wait too read The Treatment next to see how everything ends. All and all The Program was an amazing read for me that I most definitely will check out more books by Suzanne Young! Well until next time my friends. |
