Katharina von Bora has seen nothing but the inside of cloister walls since she was five. In a daring escape, Katharina finds refuge with Martin Luther and seeks his help to pair her with the noble, wealthy husband she desires.

As class tensions and religious conflicts escalate toward the brink of war, Martin Luther believes that each day could be his last and determines he will never take a wife.

As the horrors of the bloody Peasant War break out around them, the proud Katharina and headstrong Martin Luther fight their own battle for true love, in one of the greatest love stories of history.

Ok I went into this book not knowing nothing about it except that it was Christian fiction which I was super excited about. But the more I read into the book the more I was conflicted with the story. Now I really did like the plot, the characters and the romance but I really did not agree with the concept or the romance between the two main characters. Now when I read more into Luther and Katherina there names sounds so familiar to me that I had to double check on the internet to see if there are real people. And when I fond them now I knew why this book was not really my cup a tea. Don't get me wrong the book is written beautifully, and has a plot full of forbidden love & sacrifices which I love to read, the character were very well developed and the romance was slow burning and sweet. But I really didn't agree with the romance and the concept of this book. I am sorry I really didn't agree with Martin Luther teachings now there was some things that I did agree on but mostly I didn't agree with the rest. I really do apologize this is all on me and what are my beliefs are just this book was not for me. But please don't let my review detour you from reading Luther and Katherina it really was a very beautiful and well written book and has a very intriguing plot. That I know some of you will most definitely love this book. Now I will most definitely read more books by Jody Hedlund because I absolutely love and enjoy her beautiful writing style, but I am going to find out more in depth about her books before I check out her books.

Jody Hedlund is an award-winning and bestselling author of inspirational historical romances including books for adults and youth. She currently makes her home in central Michigan with her husband and their five busy children.

As a busy mama-writer, she has the wonderful privilege of teaching her crew of 5 children at home. In between grading math papers and giving spelling tests, she occasionally does a load of laundry and washes dishes. When she's not busy being a mama, you can find her in front of her laptop working on another of her page-turning stories.

She loves reading almost as much as she loves writing, especially when it also involves chocolate and coffee.
