Are you ready to enter the Wormworld?

Jonas is a dreamer. During his summer holidays he stays at his Grandmas house on the countryside. In the attic he discovers a strange painting, which turns out to be an entrance to the mysterious Wormworld. Jonas steps through the picture into the foreign world and loses connection to his home right at that moment. Completely left on his own, he has to face the biggest adventure of his young life...

*** I received this graphic novel through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, thank you so to the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review The Wormworld Saga: The Journey Begins ***

I would like to apologize ahead of time because I read this graphic novel back in May and I am now just review. It has just been really busy of a couple of months through the summer time to this day. Life and health issues just got in the way and I am really sorry my life and health issues take first priorities for me, but now I have some time to do some reviews. Ok now lets us get into this review I absolutely loved this gorgeous graphic novel I think it is also an MG graphic novel as well. This novel has totally amazing, beautiful and gorgeous pictures I just can keep on staring at it for hours, I absolutely love the beautiful world, forest, and creatures that Daniel Lieske has created in the Wormworld Saga. I really don't want to say any details about what the plotline and story are all about because I don't want to spoil it for anybody, but the whole story is truly a magical journey that Jonas goes there in the mysterious and somewhat dangerous Wormworld. I absolutely love all the characters and different creatures in Wormworld I thought they were all very well rounded and developed. I really loved Jonas who is a really shy boy who loves to dream up magical worlds during his summer vacation at his grandma house rather than do his homework assignment for school during the summer. Jonas father does not like Jonas being a dreamer and him making-up worlds so he is really strict and hard on Jonas to take is education series and to stop making up fake worlds. The writing style is flawless and very expressive I can feel every emotion that each character felt. One day Jonas and his father got into an argument and Jonas ran to the new hiding place that he recently found in his grandma attic and that's where Jonas found a picture that he could step into the foreign magical world of Wormworld. But something happens when Jonas steps into Wormworld which I won't say what happens because that is very spoiler but I will say Jonas loses all connection to his home right at that time. And Jonas is stuck in Wormworld completely alone he has to find a way to get back to his world and back to his family who he knows will be terribly worried about him. Now there are some things that go down for Jonas in Wormworld but I won't say what it is because again that is very spoiler, but I will say that Jonas has quite an adventure in Wormworld and he also finds some dangerous things in the mystery land and he also finds a new friend in Wormworld who helps him out a lot. Now I am going to stop here without getting to a spoiler. But I really do think this book is just a great graphic novel for middle-grade kids that I think they would highly enjoy. All and all I absolutely loved everything about The Wormworld Saga: The Journey Begins that I hope that I can continue on reading about Jonas and his journey through Wormworld.

  1. Sorry to hear you've not been having a great time. I hope things are better now. Great review, I don't seem to get on with graphic novels but maybe a middle grade one would be better.
