Now that high school is over, Ari is dying to move to the big city with his ultra-hip band―if he can just persuade his dad to let him quit his job at their struggling family bakery. Though he loved working there as a kid, Ari cannot fathom a life wasting away over rising dough and hot ovens. But while interviewing candidates for his replacement, Ari meets Hector, an easygoing guy who loves baking as much as Ari wants to escape it. As they become closer over batches of bread, love is ready to bloom . . . that is, if Ari doesn’t ruin everything.

Writer Kevin Panetta and artist Savanna Ganucheau concoct a delicious recipe of intricately illustrated baking scenes and blushing young love, in which the choices we make can have terrible consequences, but the people who love us can help us grow.

Ohh what an amazing and very cute graphic novel was Bloom for me and I know I am writing this review in November when I finish reading this book back in Aug. I am sorry that I am posting a review so late which this book is a perfect summer book when I first heard about this graphic novel a couple of months ago. I wanted to check it out soon I also heard that it was a perfect beach read so back in Aug I wanted to check this graphic novel out in Aug. And I am so glad and happy that I check it out from the library back in Aug.

I thoroughly loved and enjoyed this graphic novel so much. I don't want to go into any details about this amazing book because I think each reader should check this graphic novel out and see what they think about this awesome book. But I will tell you why this graphic novel is one of my favorite books of this year. The plotline and aspect of Bloom were so beautiful well done that my heart hurt reading the struggle that both Ari and Hector were having in life, but I love seeing how their friendship grows and blossoms into love. Their struggle was heartful and emotional that I shed some tears reading what was happening to both Ari and Hector.

I also really love the family dynamics in Bloom as well. Ari's parents are just amazing and very understanding and they love their son unconditionally and accept him for who he is. And I can't forget about Ari's friends his true friends that stay with him through thick and thin and I so love his two best friends that stay with him through his struggle in life.  The graphic art is so amazingly beautiful with just one color of blue which works so well in this graphic novel plus blue is one of my all-time favorite colors. All the characters in Bloom were all diverse and complex that I couldn't get enough of reading about them.

The writing style flows beautifully well and somewhat flowery that I just love and enjoy so much. All and all I truly loved and enjoyed reading Bloom that I can't wait to read more graphic novels if Kevin Panetta, Savanna Ganucheau work together again I would so pick up their book because I so loved and enjoyed Bloom so much!
